1 lb chicken thighs
1/2 tbsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 cups flour
1 pc egg
1 cup water
2 tbsp oil
3 cups oil for frying
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 tsp chili flake
1 tbsp garlic
1 tsp ginger
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tbsp cup vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp sesame oil
1. Cut chicken in to small cubes.
2. In a medium bowl, combine salt, white pepper, cornstarch, and flour. Add the egg, water, and oil then mix thoroughly.
3. Add the chicken to the batter. Set aside.
4. Heat oil in a deep fry pan, add the chicken and cook until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and drain with paper towel to remove excess oil.
5. In a seperate pan, add oil then stir in red pepper flakes, ginger, and garlic, and saute for about 30 seconds. Add the white sugar and brown sugar. Add in the orange juice, vinegar and soy sauce then add the cornstarch slurry then simmer until the sauce becomes thickened.
6. Add in the chicken and stir until completely coated in the sauce. Add in sesame oil.
7. Serve and enjoy! 🙂
